Elizabeth Banks talks about how The Maze Runner lead her to The Hunger Games books!
In an interview with New York Magazine, Banks (who will play Effie Trinket in the Hunger Games movies) recently mentioned how she found out about the Hunger Games. Here’s the part we’re talking about;
"I read the book a long time ago. I was a very early adopter. I’d actually just read a book called The Maze Runner, which is another great book with a similar theme, but it has a male protagonist … my husband and I are always looking for properties to produce. So we had an advance reader’s copy of The Maze Runner […] So we looked at that book and someone said, ‘If you liked Maze Runner, you’ll really like The Hunger Games.’"
